Dr Shobhana Radhakrishna has authored a book on her father titled 'Mahatma Gandhi's Vision: Radhakrishna's Action'. This was released by Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, President, IGNCA and by Shri H.K. Dua, Journalist and Diplomat on 19th June.
Late Shri K.S.Radhakrishna (1924~1994) was engaged in wide-ranging constructive programmes of Mahatma Gandhi for five decades based on Satyagraha and Sarvodaya. This book is on the life, thought and work in the Gandhian movement after Mahatma Gandhi to Lok Nayak Jayprakash Narayan and beyond.
One of the primary purposes of this book is to honour the multidimensional contribution made by Shri K.S.Radhakrishna, the great stalwart of the Gandhian and Sarvodaya movement post-Independence India and his role in the Lok Nayak Jayprakash Narayan's Total Revolution movement, work with Nanaji Deshmukh opposing the Emergency, the formation of the Janata Party Government and even after that at the Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi. It has been 44 years since the Emergency was declared in 1975 and it is time to remember JP and his close associate and confidante, Radhakrishna.
The new generation must see as to how they fought for freedom or democracy, which we all take for granted, that was extinguished by their very keepers but was restored by the indomitable spirit and sacrifice of JP and his associates from the Sarvodaya movement.
During the commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, it would be an essential contribution for the new generation to understand as to how the stalwarts fought for freedom or democracy, which we all take for granted, and was restored by the indomitable spirit and sacrifice of great leaders of the Sarvodaya and the Gandhian movement.
